Over the past decade, researchers have been demonstrating the life-altering effects of practicing gratitude.
What exactly does it mean to “practice” gratitude?
It’s the daily, deliberate exercise of perfecting a grateful mindset.
It is the opportunity to shift our focus from what is wrong with the world, to what is right.
Have you found yourself struggling for that joie de vivre? The ‘zest for life’ that you faintly recall from your childhood years?
Remember the simple joy you felt at receiving a hug from a loved one?
Even as children, our minds are wired to be grateful for the joy set before us, those tiny moments that we now experience vicariously through the beaming smiles on our children’s faces.
We threaten the existence of joy in our adult lives because we allow our minds to be clouded with the stressors of life: not having enough money, trouble brewing in our relationships, dissatisfaction on the job, and even tragic illnesses and losses that befall us.
It’s not that trouble in life doesn’t exist.
The truth is that we have an opportunity to exchange sorrow for joy and complaining for thankfulness.
We need only change our mindset, directing our moment-by-moment thoughts toward gratitude.
You will even discover that gratitude can be experienced in the most unlikely of places, hardships and trials. IF you focus on what you DO have to be grateful for.
Gratitude has scientifically proven benefits!

- Increased income
- Greater resilience in the face of adversity
- Longer life
- Increased overall sense of well-being
This is another subject that I’m incredibly passionate about and have seen the lasting impact of living a life of gratitude.
Again, so much so that I wrote a book about it. “Today I am Grateful” gives you the opportunity to see all of the wonder you have to be grateful for and to express your gratitude daily through a command journal.
By shifting your focus daily on everything you have to be grateful for you shift your mind to see how blessed you truly are every day.
What if rather than being upset that you have to get up at 6 a.m. (the negative) you were grateful for the opportunity to wake up and live another day. Many people will not have the opportunity to live today. Yes, merely waking up is a blessing and something we should be grateful for every day!
What if rather than being angry because of all of the interruptions by your customers you were grateful to have those clients who provide an income for you?
What if you woke up tomorrow only with the things you were grateful for today? Would you have life? Would you have your health? Would you have a roof over your head? Hands and feet that allow you to work? The list goes on an on.
Begin today… in every circumstance find what you DO have to be grateful for.
Live a grateful Life:
- Improve your Sleep
- Lower your incidence of anxiety and depression
- Lower your blood pressure
- Reduced your incidence of heart attack
- Have Stronger relationships
- Increase your income
- Have greater resilience in the face of adversity
- Live a longer life
- Increase your overall sense of well-being
