You would never show up to a job in your PJ’s. So why are you doing it in your home based business?
I know. I know. Because you can. Yes, you absolutely can. But do you feel productive in your PJ’s? As productive as you do in other attire? My educated guess is that you don’t.
Putting on pajamas, sweats, or comfy “dear God, don’t let me see anyone I know today” clothes, typically prepares us to sleep, relax, or just have a lazy day.
So why on earth would you prepare for any of those things when what you really want is to be productive and successful? Get dressed!
What if the exterminator showed up at your house in PJ’s? Would you take them seriously?
Probably not. I bet you wouldn’t even let them in your house. You’d probably call their boss and give him a little piece of your mind or write a review that no one ever wants to get.
Yet you’re showing up in your comfy’s to work every day and expect that you’ll take what you do seriously? Get dressed!
Find something that inspires you to be productive. Something that says I’m going to show up to work today. And get dressed! Even if you wear it every day.
There’s a reason many companies have uniforms! Yes, it exemplifies a brand. But more importantly uniforms set the tone for the type of work employees must accomplish every day.
What type of work do you want to accomplish? Dress for it!
